Founded in 1907, Tabor Children's Services is a multi-service child welfare agency that for more than 100 years has provided quality programs to keep children safe, strengthen families and promote the independence of youth and families. From offices in Doylestown and Philadelphia, current child welfare services in the five-county Philadelphia region include: In-Home Services, Adoption, Treatment Foster Care, Mental Health Services, Prevention/Parenting Services and Supervised Independent Living. Social workers help children who are at-risk for abuse or neglect and highly challenged families; in-home services workers are on-call 24/7; and youth workers prepare adolescents for independent living as productive citizens. Trained foster parents team with social workers to meet the special needs of children in care and support the birth family’s efforts to achieve the child's return home. Another affiliate of the Tabor organization, Tabor's Children House offers child development services on the agency’s Doylestown campus, including child care for infants to kindergarten, before and after school care and a summer camp.
